I market things I believe in.

I love to use my word nerdery to help market products and companies I believe in. I have done a ton of freelance content marketing work. I also worked full-time as a writer/editor for The Ligne Group, a full-service marketing firm for the luxury shelter industry.

I currently am the content manager for REP Fitness, my favorite gym equipment company. I work on product descriptions and launches, edit newsletters, and I launched a new blog for the company, among other fun projects.

I love feature writing.

I wrote an award-winning fashion column for the Boulder Daily Camera. For about 15 years, I was primarily a features writer there, covering fitness, pop culture, health, music, religion, food, home and garden, family, arts and youth. I wrote a fitness column for the newspaper for more than a decade.

For Digital First Media, I ran syndicated fashion coverage of the Hollywood Red Carpet at the Golden Globes and the Grammys.

You may have also seen my articles in Oprah's O Magazine and on the cover of Yoga Journal (both in the United States and Germany).

I am a leader in digital journalism.

For two years, I worked on Media News Group's IdeaLab, an elite team of journalists nationwide who explored how to use new media and technology to improve the field. I am the "Modern Lois Lane," a mobile journalist.

My experience spans social media campaigns, building websites, teaching college-level workshops about mobile journalism, filming and editing videos and blogging.

If words are involved, so am I.

See my resume for more info.

I am a storyteller.

I am a professional journalist. For years, I was a blogger for the Huffington Post Weird News. I am still a travel contributor for USA Today 10Best.com and Fodors.com

Books are my jam.

In 2020, I released my own travel book, "Colorado Day Trips By Theme," which hit the #1 best-seller and new release in Road Travel Reference; #1 new release for Budget Travel Guides; and #1 new release in family activities on Amazon.com, among other high rankings.

I have edited and contributed to more than 60 other books, including for Alpha/Penguin publishing (codeswitching.biz) and Random House, as well as multiple Amazon best-sellers and award-winners. I've ghostwritten several full novels, too, but I can't tell you about them or I would have to kill you.

I also enjoy writing short stories, mostly nonfiction-inspired and suspense.

I specialize in travel writing.

I am the nation's top writer on Colorado travel. I am also a Colorado native.

I was a Colorado travel writer for CultureTrip, named the fastest growing travel and media brand on social media in 2019, with about 20 million monthly unique visitors; 2.7 million app downloads; and 8 million social media followers. CultureTrip has won more than 30 awards, including 16 Telly awards, 2 Webby awards and 10 Muse Creative awards -- just since 2019.

I was the Colorado Travel Expert for TripSavvy, one of the top 10 travel websites with 6.3 million+ monthly visitors a month. TripSavvy is a part of Dotdash (formerly About.com), which was named Digiday's Publisher of the Year in 2018.

I write travel articles for USA Today 10Best.com (one of the top travel sites in North America) and SpaTravelGal.com (considered the world's most influential voice in luxury and spa travel). Since 2013, I have worked on the Fodor's Travel Guides (the world's largest English-language travel guide company, published by RandomHouse), and I write for Fodors.com. Fodor's gets 4 million unique visitors each month; has a half a million social media followers; distributes 300 different print and eBook guides; and Fodors.com won the Webby's People Voice Award for Websites - Travel.

For three years, I was also the head writer and editor for TravelBoulder.com. I crafted the editorial vision, handled most writing and editing and helped launch the website and a print magazine. I also served as the photo editor.

I wrote for Denver Life Magazine, often on travel, both statewide and internationally (China, Aruba, Iceland, Peru). I also covered travel for ShopAtHome.com (12 million unique visitors per month).

I traveled Haiti and Africa to write award-winning, in-depth, narrative-style articles about the economic and health plights. I studied international journalism at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and am fluent in German.
